What you need to do it put your money in companies that will not fall dramatically. In these kinds of times you want to be the one that did not lose as much as the others. So, put your money in Coca Cola, Mcdonalds, and WalMart.
I disagree with SOLAR stocks. They are a secondary play on oil.
That means, when oil climbs, awhile later solar climbs.
I think the best energy play is COAL. It’s cheap and plentiful.
Longer term, think international and think demographics.
China and India are down but they will bounce back fast.
The demographic play is the baby boomers are about to retire. They need mobile homes, pharmaceuticals, motorized wheel chairs, etc.
Consider a stock like Rio Tinto, RTP. They make money AND they are an inflation hedge.
Most all stocks are getting destroyed right now. One particular sector with some good potential, even through this rough time, is the solar sector. Just today there was one solar company that received an upgrade, one the posted triple profits and raised outlook, and one that got upgraded. Check out SOLF, FSLR, SPWRA, TSL, SOL, JASO, and LDK. These are all good solars with a LOT of upside potential.
